- Sepoy army: Indian sepoys trained in European tactics; British army doctrine emerged.
- Subsidiary Alliance roots: Dupleix’s system of installing pro-French puppet rulers (Hyderabad, Carnatic) was later replicated by Wellesley.
- Pondicherry remained French until 1 Nov 1954 — merged into India by referendum after Indian independence.
