Sabarmati Ashram + Dandi March
Sabarmati Ashram (Satyagraha Ashram): founded by Mahatma Gandhi on 17 June 1917 at Kochrab; relocated to Sabarmati riverbank on 17 June 1917 (some sources 25 June 1917). Located on the west bank of Sabarmati at Ahmedabad. Gandhi lived here from 1917 to 1930 (13 years).
12 March 1930: Mahatma Gandhi launched the Dandi March (Salt Satyagraha) from Sabarmati Ashram with 78 followers. 240 miles in 24 days — reached Dandi 5 April 1930; broke salt law 6 April 1930.
After arrest on the night of 4 May 1930, Gandhi vowed not to return to the Ashram until India achieved Independence. Ashram converted to a national memorial 1933. Renovated 2024 with new visitor centre by Bimal Patel + HCP Design.

Sabarmati Riverfront Development Project — planned 1992, started 1997 under then-CM Keshubhai Patel + 2002 Modi government accelerated; inaugurated phase-1 by Modi as Gujarat CM in 2012.
